2008-09 Season

Like the four seasons and the four points of the compass, the Four Elements have been cornerstones of human experience for centuries. The Greek classical elements (Earth, Water, Air and Fire) date from pre-Socratic times and persisted throughout the Middle Ages and into the Renaissance, deeply influencing European thought and culture. In 2008-2009, the Waukegan Symphony celebrates the mysteries of our natural world with its “Season of the Elements” in which the orchestra will explore the idea of each element in its own concert setting.
